about the author
Jules Clancy [thats me] is a full time food blogger and the type of girl who plans her holidays around restaurant reservations.
I’m a writer, photographer, food scientist, reformed winemaker, runner and aspiring minimalist. I live in Sydney.
I was fortunate enough to dine at elBulli in December 2009 – a superlative food experience that prompted the birth of eat|shop|drink.
While discovering new places to eat and drink and buy ingredients is one of my obsessions, I also love spending time in my kitchen and have been blogging about my simple recipes over at stonesoup | minimalist home cooking since late 2005.
I’ve always loved the challenge of thinking up the perfect restaurant recommendation for friends, family and colleagues. There are few things more rewarding than racking your brains for the ideal venue, recommending it and then getting rave reviews.
Now with eat|shop|drink, I can use my powers to help a broader audience find dining [and shopping] nirvana
about the recommendations
I believe in the old adage that ‘any publicity is good publicity’ so you won’t find any scathing reviews in the pages of eat|shop|drink. If I don’t like a place I’m not going to write about it. Simple as that.
What you will find are links to restaurants, cafes, bars, wineries and food shops from bakers to fishmongers that bring a little joy to our lives – and deserve to be discovered by more people.
All reviews are conducted anonymously – fortunately I don’t need to go to any Ruth Richel-disguise-yourself lengths just yet. And I pay my own way [although am open to bribes - see contact details below].

Good afternoon, Hope you are doing well.
I have just opened a new cafe called Coffee Garam in Surry Hills.
The inspiration about the cafe is based on a fusion of two cultures Australia and India. As seen in the name, Coffee Garam, meaning Hot COffee.
I have always come across a lot of Indian restaurants but never an Indian theme cafe. India has got a lot of food that is found on streets and I am trying to produce them in Sydney with an Australian flavor.
The cafe is located on 29-37 Bellevue st, Surry Hills, NSW 2010. The website is http://www.coffeegaram.com.
I am wanting to invite people who are food fanatics like me or who love to visit new cafes, for a Free coffee and lunch.
Your blog being the inspiration, I would love to invite you to my cafe and would want your valuable Feedback.
Please do let me know.
Looking forward to seeing you and your friends soon at the cafe.
Thanks,
Best regards
Harvey
